Final 3D project. Outside installation using the support pins in the dividing wall of the storage space. 3/4" wooden dowels, 2 feet long extending from the holes in the wall, connected to varying sized 2 X 4's. Black and clear tarp used as "flags" for wind movement in the piece. One side gradually increases, while the opposite side decreases. The point was to keep a decently clean, industrial, "man made" look to the piece, without over-emphasizing the piece in relation to the area it was installed in.
I'm not a minimalist, but sometimes you have to make due.
something to think about would be making it interactive, if the viewers could walk through it.
it's pretty interesting on its own though. i'm sure it's better with the sound that comes from the flags flapping in the wind
Well, considering I was pressed for time(24 hours) to get the piece done, doing all of what I wanted with it was pretty much impossible. There's such a variety of things that could've been accomplished in the space that was provided, but you do what you can when you're in a pinch, you know? I agree, I like the piece, but I wish that I could've done it on a personal level, and not an academic one.
yeah, due dates and pressure placed by marks tend to influence work too much. but it helps you become disciplined for when you work within your own time schedule.
